2012

I just wanted to take a moment to say goodbye to 2012. It's been a good year but I'm ready to see what 2013 has in store for me. Happy New Year!

Funny

I just wanted to take a minute and tell you about a funny thing my kid said. Last night at the dinner table, my 5 year old asks me "Mom, am I allergic to anything?" I answered him, "No, why?" He says "Yes, I am. I'm allergic to crickets and grasshoppers." My husband just about spit out his water from trying not to laugh. Where do they come up with these things?

Dragon

I went to see the movie How to Train your Dragon over the weekend. It was very cute and I would recommend it. The only complaint I have about it, was the theater I saw it in only showed the movie in 2D - it would have been awesome in 3D!

New Camera

So, I realize I haven't blogged in a while. I guess there's not that much interesting in my life. Or maybe there is, I just don't stop to write it down anywhere. The sad part about that is I know my memory won't last and it would be great to go back and read about my life and what my kids were doing and saying!

Anyway, I did want to let you know that I have a new camera! My wonderful husband let me get it this past weekend. I did a lot of research and settled on this one, now I just hope that I can figure out how to use it and that I'm not disappointed with it later on. I got a Canon Powershot SX20is. Maybe now that I have a better camera, I can take some pics and blog about them!

Women of Faith

So, I just got back from my 3rd visit to the Women of Faith conference in Greensboro, NC. I gotta tell ya, I am amazed and awed by how much I bring back from these conferences every year. I love God and love to see him work. I walk around in my life wanting to be a better Christian and when I come back from a conference, I am reminded that I can be.

Some things that I took away with me:

Let Go - it's okay to forgive
Shine my light - let others see Jesus in me
Unpack my boxes - don't be afraid to talk about the stuff I have packed away

My sister joined me this year and I'm so glad she did! I took a picture of us with my cell phone, but it's very blurry so I can't post it. Once I get the pics off my camera, I might can edit this post!

I just hope that until next year's conference, I will continue to think on and live the messages that I've heard.

Not much

So, I wanted to post something else because it's been a while since I started this blog, but I really don't have anything going on right now.

My family doesn't celebrate Halloween, so I don't have anything to post about that.

My nephew did celebrate his 3rd birthday a couple weekends ago and that was pretty fun! He had a Thomas birthday party and my sister decorated the cake herself. I think she did a pretty good job!
